Hi, I’m Garry—father of two, husband to a long-suffering non-adventurer, and proud supporter of Heart of Midlothian FC (yes, even when it hurts). I’m a lifelong geek with a soft spot for sprawling lore, moral ambiguity, and worlds where choices matter. If it’s got dragons, doomed kingdoms, or a morally questionable wizard, I’m probably into it.
My TTRPG journey started during lockdown, my kids and wife had nowhere to hide so I dragged them kicking and screaming into D&D. We complete Dragon of Icespire Peak – but my wife and daughter would not be dragged onwards, and my son is more interested in his xbox. So I was left adrift and I ventured online with strangers. Since then, I’ve run countless online campaigns in D&D 5e (2014 and 2024), and now I’m venturing into the wilds of in-person play thanks to a newish local gaming venue. Currently, I’m running a Tales of the Valiant (by Kobold Press) campaign, with plans to explore Daggerheart, Draw Steel and more.
Jambo GM’s Journal is where I share my session prep notes, campaign recaps, product reviews, and general musings on the joys and chaos of being a Game Master. Whether you’re a newbie GM, a veteran of 1000 adventures or just curious about the madness behind my screen, you’re welcome here.
